Job Overview

The Assistant Chief Engineer role is a key position within the property operations team.

  • Supports the management of Property Operations, including supervising the distribution of repair work orders and ensuring that property policies are administered fairly and consistently.
  • Assists in effectively planning, scheduling, and evaluating preventative maintenance programs to ensure the timely and quality completion of repair work orders.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manages and coordinates property operations, overseeing daily activities and providing strategic direction.
  2. Develops and implements effective maintenance schedules, ensuring optimal equipment performance and minimizing downtime.
  3. Collaborates with employees to create awareness of business objectives, communicate expectations, and recognize performance.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required; 4 years of experience in engineering and maintenance or related professional area, or 2-year degree from an accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or related major.
  • Technical training in HVAC-R, electrical, plumbing, or other relevant fields is preferred.

Maintaining Property Standards: Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities to determine the type of work required, maintain accurate logs and records as required, operate generators and fire pumps as necessary, provide emergency response services 24/7, and repair equipment as needed.

Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service: Empower employees to provide excellent customer service, emphasize guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings, and focus on continuous improvement.

Conducting Human Resources Activities: Helps train employees in safety procedures, supports a departmental orientation program, communicates performance expectations, and ensures disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs).
