Job Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Industrial Health Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in occupational health and safety, with the ability to assess and mitigate workplace hazards.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of occupational health hazards and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Fulfill all relevant statutory requirements under the Factories Act and regulations.
  • Develop and implement general and occupational health procedures and protocols in line with industry standards and best practices.
  • Promote referral services through partnerships with local medical facilities.
  • Guide management in addressing and correcting occupational health issues.
  • Operational Tasks:
  • Perform pre- and periodic medical examinations of workers and employees to ensure fitness for deployment.
  • Provide first-aid care, including emergency medical treatment.
  • Coordinate statutory health checks and visits from certifying physicians.
  • Maintain medical supplies and inventory, including specific antidotes at the on-site Occupational Health Center.
  • Keep accurate records of employee health as per regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Create a database of employee health records, analyzing trends and providing advice as needed.
  • Deliver health education sessions on occupational hazards, first aid, personal hygiene, environmental sanitation, and safety.
  • Oversee the management of the Occupational Health Center to address any medical emergencies.
  • Financial Management:
  • Monitor and control the Medical Centre's expenses.
  • Suggest capital expenditure projects.
  • Prepare financial reports.
  • People Development:
  • Offer referral services with medical guidance.
  • Organize occupational health and general health awareness training, including first aid training for employees.
  • Collaborate with site EHS leads to enhance leading HSE metrics, sustaining and improving EHS management at the site.

Educational Qualifications:

  • MBBS degree.
  • Diploma in Industrial Health (DIH) or Certificate of Training in Industrial Health recognized by the state government.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 1-8 years of experience in managing Occupational Health Centers in an industrial setting.
