Job Title: Quality Assurance Specialist

 

As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that all BIW components meet the highest standards of quality.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Conduct detailed inspections of BIW components to verify dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and weld integrity.
  • Perform non-destructive testing methods, such as ultrasonic or dye penetrant tests, to detect defects.
  • Verify conformance to design specifications and tolerances using gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other metrology tools.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, e.g., ISO, ASTM, and customer-specific quality requirements.
  • Develop and maintain quality control plans (QCPs) and inspection checklists.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies to ensure legal compliance.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure that welds, joints, and assembled structures are defect-free.
  • Analyze process data to identify trends, variances, or potential quality risks.
  • Implement Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques to maintain quality consistency.
  • Identify and document defects in raw materials, components, and final assemblies.
  • Conduct root cause analysis, e.g., 8D, Fishbone diagram, for any identified quality issues.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to eliminate defects.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Strong understanding of quality management principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards, e.g., ISO, ASTM.
  • Ability to develop and implement quality control plans and inspection checklists.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends or potential quality risks.
  • Basic knowledge of statistical process control techniques.
