Technical Leadership Role

This role will lead the technical vision, architecture and roadmap for power electronics systems.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Define Technical Vision: Develop a comprehensive technical strategy for power electronics systems, aligning with business goals and objectives.
  • Lead Architecture: Oversee the design, simulation, prototyping and validation of high-efficiency rectifier and DC-DC converter systems (10 kW to >5 MW).
  • Drive Innovation: Foster innovation in cost-effective, scalable and high-efficiency power conversion for electrolyzer stacks, collaborating with mechanical, thermal and systems engineering teams.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor and lead a multidisciplinary team of power electronics engineers and technicians, ensuring optimal performance and teamwork.
  • Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with component vendors, contract manufacturers and external design partners, securing best-in-class solutions.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure adherence to relevant grid codes, EMC/EMI standards, UL, IEC, IEEE or other regulatory frameworks, mitigating risks and maintaining compliance.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Manufacturing and Operations teams to align technical goals with commercial requirements, driving business success.
  • IP Strategy: Support the development of internal and external IP strategy in power electronics and system design, leveraging intellectual property to drive innovation and growth.
  • Firmware Development: Guide the firmware architecture, coding standards, testing and release processes to ensure high reliability and maintainability, optimizing system-level performance.
  • System-Level Performance: Ensure firmware co-development is tightly integrated with hardware design for optimal system-level performance, delivering exceptional results.
Requirements

This role requires the following skills and qualifications:

  • Education: Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a focus on power electronics.
  • Industry Experience: 18+ years of industry experience in power electronics, including at least 5 years in leadership roles.
  • Power Electronics Expertise: Deep understanding of AC-DC and DC-DC conversion topologies, especially in multi-kilowatt to multi-megawatt power classes.
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Excellent leadership, communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, driving results through effective team management.
