Our client is India's first Gallium Nitride (GaN for short) product company for radio-frequency electronics and power electronics. Their vertical technology integration – from making GaN wafers (materials), using their proprietary semiconductor manufacturing processes to realize GaN components and their design – enables them to develop solutions for compact, efficient and high-power solutions across the strategic, telecom and consumer use-cases.

As a Power Electronics Engineer, you'll lead the design and implementation of GaN-based power converters , half-bridge circuits , and evaluation platforms that showcase the performance and reliability of our devices. You'll collaborate across disciplines— semiconductor design, packaging, and applications—to bring reference designs from concept to deployment.

Your responsibilities will include -

·      Design and simulate GaN-based power converter topologies (e.g., buck, boost, half- bridge, LLC, PFC)

·      Develop evaluation boards and reference designs to demonstrate GaN device capabilities

·      Perform circuit-level simulations (SPICE, LTspice, PLECS, etc.) and EMI/thermal analysis

·      Oversee PCB layout , component selection, and hardware bring-up

·      Conduct bench testing , validation, and reliability assessments (e.g., DC-HTOL, switching stress)

·      Collaborate with device engineers to optimize performance at the system level

·      Generate application notes , design guides, and technical documentation for customers

·      Support customer engagements and provide technical insights to marketing and sales teams.

Must -have's

·      Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related field

·      3+ years of experience in power converter design , preferably with wide-bandgap semiconductors

·      Strong understanding of GaN device behavior , switching characteristics, and gate drive requirements

·      Proficiency in simulation tools & lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, thermal cameras)

·      Experience with PCB design tools (Altium, KiCad, or equivalent)

Nice to -have

·      Exposure to GaN packaging and thermal management

·      Familiarity with automotive, industrial, or aerospace standards

·      Experience in system-level design and digital control (MCUs, DSPs, FPGAs)
