About the Guild:
Founded in 2022, Ethereal Exploration Guild (The Guild) is building the World's First Fully Reusable Medium-Lift Launch Vehicle/Rocket, Razor Crest Mk-1(RCM1).
Based in India, the team has a combined flight heritage of over 75 launches from the PSLV and GSLV fleets, and more than 300 years of collective experience in the space industry. The Guild is also developing a 700,000 sq ft facility dedicated to Upper Stage Engine Testing, which is going to be India's largest privately developed Engine Testing Facility.
The Guild has also built and manufactured India's First Reusable Rocket Engine.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual to join the Hands of the Guild as a
Power Electronics Engineer
.

Location:
Hebbal, Bengaluru
Job-Type: On-site, Monday - Saturday
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the design, development, and qualification of high-reliability power electronics for launch vehicle systems and sub-systems, including DC-DC converters, motor controllers, battery management systems (BMS), power distribution units (PDU), and solid-state switchgear.
- Participate in the full lifecycle of power systems - from architecture definition, circuit design, simulation, schematic capture, PCB layout, and component selection to manufacturing, hardware bring-up, environmental testing, and flight certification.
- Perform detailed electrical and thermal analysis of converters, inverters, and high-power switching devices (MOSFETs, IGBTs, GaN/SiC transistors) under transient and steady-state conditions to ensure high efficiency and thermal robustness in cryogenic and vacuum environments.
- Develop and implement power system protection strategies including fault detection, current limiting, inrush control, and safe-state transitions for critical avionics and propulsion subsystems.
- Integrate power electronics hardware with batteries, solar arrays, propulsion actuators, avionics systems, and ground support equipment while meeting EMI/EMC, radiation tolerance, and redundancy requirements.
- Support test campaigns including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations, thermal-vacuum testing, vibration/shock qualification, and full system integration tests.
- Work closely with avionics, propulsion, structures, and GNC teams to ensure vehicle-level compatibility of power systems and adherence to mission-level requirements.
- Manage documentation and configuration control for schematics, PCB layouts, system models, and interface control documents throughout the program lifecycle.
- Establish and enforce safe laboratory and test protocols for handling high-voltage, high-current, and energy-dense systems in development and operations environments.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related technical field.
- Strong foundation in power electronics design, including topologies such as buck, boost, flyback, resonant, and multi-phase converters.
- Knowledge of semiconductor device physics and switching behavior in power systems.
- Hands-on experience with SPICE-based circuit simulation, PCB layout tools, and lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, spectrum analyzers).
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated with ability to work in fast-paced, cross-disciplinary environments.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 1–2+ years of professional experience in power electronics design for aerospace, automotive, or other mission-critical systems.
- Experience with wide-bandgap devices (GaN, SiC) for high-efficiency and high-power-density applications.
- Familiarity with EMI/EMC design and mitigation techniques.
- Experience with battery systems, BMS, and high-voltage power distribution architectures.
- Proficiency with simulation tools (LTspice, PLECS, PSIM, MATLAB/Simulink) and CAD tools (Altium Designer, Cadence, Mentor Graphics).
- Exposure to environmental and reliability testing standards (DO-160, MIL-STD-810, NASA/ESA ECSS standards).
- Experience in thermal modeling and integration of active/passive cooling techniques.
- Understanding of spaceflight reliability practices including derating, FMEA, and radiation effects on electronics.
