Job Title: Senior Project Associate – Road Safety, Odisha

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead our road safety initiatives across the state of Odisha.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, planning, implementing, and evaluating road safety strategies. This involves developing and reviewing policy documents, advising on alignment with national frameworks, and conducting data-driven analysis to inform interventions.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement the State Road Safety Policy and Action Plan.

  2. Advise on alignment of state initiatives with national road safety frameworks and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

  3. Design and develop guidelines and standards for safe road infrastructure, signage, and traffic management.

  4. Evaluate design and safety aspects of new and existing road projects, including highways, urban roads, intersections, and vulnerable user zones.

  5. Analyze crash data, road user patterns, and conduct causal analysis to identify trends and risk factors.

  6. Use data-driven approaches in formulating interventions and presenting findings to senior officials.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Design and deliver capacity building workshops for engineers, enforcement officers, planners, drivers, and community groups.

  2. Collaborate with local NGOs, schools, and community leaders for safe mobility initiatives.

  3. Work with police and traffic enforcement teams to strengthen compliance with road safety laws.

  4. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of enforcement and engineering interventions.

  5. Facilitate meetings among diverse government agencies for integrated safety improvements.

  6. Represent the state at national road safety forums and stakeholder consultations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in road safety, public health, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective road safety initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
