The Senior Director of Food Safety and Quality is responsible for leading all food safety and quality assurance efforts to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, customer expectations, and industry best practices.
This role oversees the development and implementation of comprehensive food safety and quality control systems, policies, and procedures that meet or exceed industry standards. The Senior Director also supervises a team of quality professionals who monitor and evaluate production processes to maintain high product quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement quality control systems, policies, and procedures that ensure compliance with food safety regulations and internal quality standards.
- Oversee regular audits, inspections, and testing processes across all production stages to maintain high product quality and safety.
- Supervise the quality control team to monitor and evaluate the production process, ensuring consistency and safety.
Food Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure proper documentation of all food safety and quality control processes and procedures for internal and external audits.
- Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies during inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership:
- Manage and mentor the quality control team, ensuring proper resource allocation and professional development.
- Foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration among team members to achieve common goals and objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in food safety and quality control, preferably in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, quality control methods, and industry certifications.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in quality control software and tools.
