Global Supply Chain Strategist

About the Role

This position is a critical component of our supply chain management team, responsible for developing and implementing effective sourcing strategies to meet business objectives. As a key member of the team, you will work closely with cross-functional groups to drive synergy savings and optimize supplier consolidation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain awareness of regional market trends and emerging material process issues, incorporating this knowledge into regional supply chain strategies.
  • Support category management for forging, steel, and machined components in the India region, leading localization projects and designing effective sourcing strategies.
  • Collaborate with global category managers to achieve synergy savings and work on supplier consolidation.
  • Work with assigned strategic business units and category managers to understand current and future supply chain needs, identifying cost savings opportunities through negotiation, competitive bidding, resourcing, alternative manufacturing processes, product redesign, and material substitutions.
  • Sustain improvements in supplier quality, delivery, cost, and cash flow performance by supporting BU supplier audit and scorecard programs and working with suppliers to identify and correct process gaps.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or regional equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in supply chain management, specifically in sourcing within the manufacturing sector.
  • Experience in new product development, supplier qualification, verification of manufacturing readiness, and ramping up volume production in assigned regions.
  • Familiarity with supplier performance management best practices and ability to influence senior management teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making skills, and ability to navigate complex situations in multicultural environments.
