Job Title: Safety Project Coordinator
Role SummaryThis is a key leadership role that requires the development, implementation, and evaluation of road safety strategies across the state. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving initiatives to improve road safety and reducing the risk of accidents.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement effective road safety policies and action plans to reduce road fatalities and injuries.
- Collaborate with government agencies and stakeholders to ensure alignment of state initiatives with national road safety frameworks and sustainable development goals.
- Design and develop guidelines and standards for safe road infrastructure, signage, and traffic management systems.
- Evaluate the design and safety aspects of new and existing road projects to identify potential risks and hazards.
- Analyze crash data and road user patterns to identify trends and risk factors, and develop targeted interventions to mitigate these risks.
- Maintain and update a comprehensive road safety database, and prepare periodic performance reports and targets for safety indicators.
- Masters degree in Transportation Planning/Engineering, Urban Planning, Urban Design, Public Policy, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mobility and/or road safety in India.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful urban mobility programs.
- Strong understanding of Indian policies, laws, and regulations related to road safety.
