Job Title: Software Asset Manager

About the Role:

As a skilled software asset manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of software assets, ensuring compliance with contractual, financial, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Software Lifecycle Management:
  1. Procure, manage, and renew software licenses to ensure optimal usage and minimize costs.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software usage aligns with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  3. Process software requests, validate licenses, assign licenses, and maintain accurate records of license assignments, usage, and compliance.
  4. Track contract expirations, coordinate with legal and procurement for contract reviews and renewals, and maintain documentation for audit readiness.
  5. Manage Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and POs in SAP, collaborate with the Center of Excellence (COE), and track PO status.
  6. Use shared mailboxes for vendor interactions, tag communications to relevant Remedy tickets, and coordinate with vendors for quotes, license keys, and order confirmations.
  7. Coordinate software packaging and deployment, track deployment status, update Remedy tickets, and manage add-ons and plugin deployments via Intune and Microsoft Entra.
  8. Conduct regular license usage reviews, reclaim unused licenses, ensure all actions are documented for audit and compliance, and support internal and vendor audits by providing accurate license data.
  9. Maintain and update SAM dashboards for renewals and compliance tracking, export and format data from Remedy for dashboard imports, and use dashboards for team coordination and audit visibility.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, or related field.
  • 3–6 years of experience in Software Asset Management or IT Procurement.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Ariba, Asana, Remedy (BMC Helix), and Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
  • Strong understanding of software licensing models and compliance.
  • Experience with vendor portals and contract management systems.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global team environment.
