Job Overview

This role entails preparing various dishes in a fast-paced kitchen environment. A Line Cook is responsible for ensuring all menu items are prepared to meet the supervisor's expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare all basic food items according to the requested menu and under supervision.
  • Possess advanced knife handling skills and utilize them efficiently.
  • Be flexible and work in any section of a kitchen as assigned.
  • Have extensive knowledge of culinary terms and concepts.
  • Read, understand, follow, and prepare recipes accurately.
  • Be highly productive and efficient in completing tasks.
  • Follow Public Health standards within their designated area.
  • Maintain their assigned station for both announced and unannounced inspections.
  • Report for duty at assigned times and adhere to supervisor instructions.
Financial Competencies
  • Manage costs effectively through proper use of resources, supplies, and equipment.
Qualifications and Education
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship, or convention banquet service.
  • At least 2 years as a Line Cook (shipboard experience preferred).
  • Culinary school degree is mandatory.
  • Strong management skills in multicultural settings are essential.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Superior customer service, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills are crucial.
  • Knowledge of personalized service principles and processes is vital.
  • Strong planning, coaching, organizing, staffing, controlling, and evaluating skills are necessary.
  • Intermediate computer software skills are mandatory.
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles is required.
  • Ability to write reports and establish rapport with Senior Officers and corporate office is essential.
