Fund Accountant Role

The purpose of this role is to prepare daily cash reports for active private equity secondaries funds.

This involves reconciling movements in capacity, loan balances, and forecast capacity to prior day reporting. Additionally, manual forecast data is adjusted for new deals and uncertain cash flows based on latest information.

Cash management proposals from administrators are reviewed, and additional cash movements are instructed as required. Formulations are made for near-term cash management, including loan drawdowns/repayments, money market fund subscriptions/redemptions, and FX trades.

Collaboration with the Treasury team occurs through daily meetings on cash management topics. The focus includes discussing what has happened, considering factors for the next few days, and planning medium-term investor cash flow.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Daily Cash Reporting:
  • Prepare daily cash reports for active private equity secondaries funds.
  • Cash Reconciliation:
  • Reconcile movements in capacity, loan balances, and forecast capacity to prior day reporting.
  • Cash Management Proposals:
  • Review cash management proposals from administrators and instruct additional cash movements as required.
  • Near-Term Cash Management:
  • Formulate proposals for near-term cash management, including loan drawdowns/repayments, money market fund subscriptions/redemptions, and FX trades.
  • Treasury Collaboration:
  • Liaise with the Treasury team through daily meetings on cash management topics.
Requirements:
  • Post-graduate / Professional Qualification: Post-graduate / CFA / CA / MBA / CCRA / CIIA / CAIA equivalent qualification.
  • Experience: At least 9 years of experience in fund accounting, preferably with leadership roles.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with ability to work independently and proactively identify ways to enhance processes.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize a large workload, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and show initiative.
  • Software Proficiency: Knowledge of MS Office, with strong skills in MS Word and MS Excel.
