About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced journalist to cover the global ferroalloys markets, with a particular focus on India.

You will report to the Associate Director and work alongside industry-leading journalists and analysts.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Report ferroalloys prices on a weekly basis, focusing on the Indian market.
  • Help launch new ferroalloys price assessments, define price specifications, and gather market feedback.
  • Generate news content on the ferroalloys market, working closely with reporters in Africa and Europe.
  • Periodic pieces on topical industry issues, such as regulatory developments, geopolitical issues, investment, project pipelines, and ESG.
  • Maintain strong client and industry relationships – ideally bringing these relationships from prior roles.
  • Engage actively in business development, assisting account managers in the sales process through maintaining sales pipelines and assisting in the sales process.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in the steel or steel raw materials industries and/or markets.
  • Experience in covering ferroalloys, bulk ores, or related markets as a journalist, analyst, or price reporter.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrable impact and influence skills.
  • Strong quantitative skills advantageous
  • Exemplary written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work within a team while sometimes operating alone
  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering would be advantageous
