Job Summary

DP World Australia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Director to lead the development and implementation of strategies to achieve and sustain operating productivity levels in all terminals & CFSs at the best cost efficiency for the company while limiting annual unit cost.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategies to achieve and sustain operating productivity levels in all terminals & CFSs at the best cost efficiency for the company while limiting annual unit cost.
  • Conduct and maintain continuous improvement culture through IT innovations in all terminals.
  • Support the evaluation, planning, specification and IT training requirements for new terminal development.
  • Monitor operational performance at each BU on a weekly basis to identify performance gaps early in lifecycle and provide guidance to implement early corrections.
  • Support assessment, decision and implementation on Terminal Operating System deployment in the SCO Region and serve as regional representative to the TOS development team.
  • Provide insight and guidance to safety strategic plans as a visible leader delivering a continuous fatality free workplace and striving to implement a zero harm working environment with a clear focus on delivering and managing lead safety indicators.
  • Establish and manage the direction of IT within the SCO Regions P&T business units, with focus on service delivery and systems availability to meet operational requirements.
  • Liaise with DP World Global IT Heads for P&T to ensure consistency of the terminal's IT practices and goals within group strategy and corporate governance.
  • Organize and oversee the implementation of Company IT policies, with particular emphasis on: terminal security: software licensing strategies; backup and restore; disaster recovery;
  • Manage the IT infrastructure budget ensuring that IT expenditure is contained within the agreed budgets and represents value for money.
  • Review Internal Audit IT plans and monitor results.
  • Manage technology vendors, third party software and L1/L2 support.
  • Ensures compliance with government regulations that apply to systems operations.
  • Accountable for leading an engaged team, providing direction and promoting collaboration while ensuring they are enabled to carry out the goals and objectives of the business
  • Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World's Founder's Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World's Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent ability to conceptualize long-term business goals and develop orderly processes to accomplish those goals.
  • Excellent managerial skills.
  • Thorough understanding of information technology and information technology systems.
  • Attention to details and ability to deal with ambiguities.
  • Experience in software implementations for Terminal Operating Systems like Navis and Zodiac.
  • Experience in deploying and supporting in-house applications is an added advantage.
  • Deep functional & technical knowledge of the operations at Terminals, Yards, Container Depots etc
  • Understanding Port Community Systems, NLP Marine.
  • Understanding Integrated Logistics Ecosystem is a plus.
  • Understanding of Rate Management, Billing and Labour Management is an added advantage.
  • Past experience in implementation and management of Back office & Enterprise Financial systems like Oracle Fusion, Navision, SAP.
