Job Overview:

The role of an Export Quality Supervisor entails overseeing multiple projects within banana export operations, focusing on temperature monitoring from farm to cold storage and dispatch. This position demands strong analytical skills, process monitoring, and coordination with cross-functional teams to ensure quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage and track multiple projects related to banana export operations, ensuring seamless execution and adherence to standards.
  • Coordinate with farm supervisors, logistics providers, and cold storage operators for efficient dispatches that meet schedule and quality requirements.

Temperature Control & Cold Chain Monitoring:

  • Monitor temperature data at all stages: farm, cold storage, dispatch, pre-carriage transport, and voyage, identifying potential deviations or breakdowns in cold chain management.
  • Analyze logger reports and recommend corrective actions to maintain export quality, ensuring consistency across all supply chain operations.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Perform detailed analysis of supply chain data to optimize processes and reduce losses, providing actionable insights to improve overall performance.
  • Prepare regular reports highlighting performance, deviations, and recommendations, facilitating informed decision-making and strategic planning.

Customer Complaint Management & RCA:

  • Investigate customer complaints related to container quality, temperature deviations, or product spoilage, conducting root cause analysis (RCA) to identify corrective/preventive actions.
  • Share findings with internal teams, suppliers, and logistics partners to prevent recurrence and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

  • Support adherence to post-harvest SOPs, including chlorine wash, Bavistin dips, pre-cooling, double-dipping, etc., ensuring strict compliance with export standards.
  • Audit farm and cold storage practices to guarantee adherence to regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate documentation for supplier communication and compliance purposes.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Knowledge of cold chain management and fruit export processes, with a focus on optimizing efficiency and reducing losses.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Google Sheets, or equivalent), with experience in creating dashboards for real-time monitoring of critical parameters.
  • Familiarity with temperature logger systems and reporting formats, with a strong understanding of how to analyze and interpret data.
  • Effective communication and coordination with diverse stakeholders, including farm supervisors, logistics providers, and cold storage operators.
  • Root cause analysis (RCA) and complaint resolution skills, with the ability to identify corrective/preventive actions and implement changes to improve overall performance.
