Job Title

A Welfare Officer is responsible for the overall welfare of workers in a manufacturing unit.

The role involves ensuring that all statutory welfare facilities are properly maintained, organizing health check-ups and safety training programs, handling worker grievances, and conducting welfare assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all statutory welfare facilities (canteen, first aid, crche, drinking water, sanitation, and restrooms) are properly maintained.
  • Organize regular health check-ups, safety training, hygiene awareness, and wellness programs for workers.
  • Handle worker grievances, mediate disputes, and maintain a positive relationship between workers and management.
  • Conduct welfare assessments and ensure continuous improvement of worker satisfaction and conditions.
  • Coordinate worker engagement activities such as sports days, cultural events, and motivational workshops.
Requirements
  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Social Work, HR, Labour Welfare, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in a garment/textile manufacturing unit handling recruitment, payroll, or worker welfare.
  • Knowledge of local labor conditions, laws, and industrial relations.
Skills
  • Strong interpersonal and counselling skills.
  • Familiarity with payroll software.
  • Working knowledge of statutory labour compliances.
  • Proficient in Hindi and preferably local dialects.
