Accounts Receivable Specialist

This role is responsible for overseeing the accounts receivable process within an organization. The primary responsibility of this position will be to ensure timely collection of outstanding debts from customers or clients.

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will develop and implement effective strategies for the collection of outstanding debts. They will monitor accounts to identify overdue payments and determine appropriate actions to take.

To achieve their goals, the specialist will communicate with customers or clients to negotiate payment plans and resolve any issues or disputes. They will also coordinate with internal departments such as sales and customer service to resolve billing and payment-related inquiries.

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities, including customer interactions and payment arrangements, is essential for this role. The specialist will analyze delinquent accounts and prepare reports on the overall status of collections.

In addition, the specialist will implement and enforce credit policies and procedures to minimize the risk of late payments or non-payment. They may collaborate with legal counsel or external collection agencies as needed to handle more complex or difficult cases.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, the candidate must possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Certificate in Accounting (CA) or Chartered Accountant (CS)
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • Proven experience in accounts receivable management, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess data and trends
  • Familiarity with collection software and tools

Able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail is also required for this role.
