Job Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and implementation of programmes within our organisation. This role requires a strong leadership presence, excellent communication skills, and the ability to develop and manage multi-stakeholder partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement long-term strategies and annual plans for programme themes to achieve organisational goals.
- Identify opportunities for collaboration and innovation to strengthen programme impact and outcomes.
- Oversee select programme areas to ensure timely and high-quality delivery in line with agreed goals and objectives.
- Provide guidance to project teams to enhance operational efficiency and responsiveness.
- Engage with implementing agencies, knowledge partners, and peer organisations to strengthen programme effectiveness.
- Represent the organisation in external forums as required to promote its mission and values.
- Provide mentoring support to mid-level team members to help them grow into leadership roles and develop their skills and expertise.
- Encourage a collaborative culture that values learning, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure effective systems are in place for tracking progress, capturing lessons, and adapting strategies to achieve better outcomes.
- Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and knowledge products to communicate programme results and impact.
- Contribute inputs to programme planning and monitor utilisation in assigned areas to ensure optimal resource allocation.
- Ensure adherence to internal processes and compliance frameworks to maintain organisational integrity and credibility.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in social sciences, development studies, public policy, or a related discipline.
- At least 12–15 years of relevant experience in programme design, management, or evaluation within the development sector, including experience in leadership roles.
- Strong leadership and team management skills to motivate and empower team members.
- Ability to develop and manage multi-stakeholder partnerships to leverage resources and expertise.
- Excellent communication and analytical abilities to articulate complex ideas and concepts.
- Demonstrated capacity to think strategically and translate plans into tangible results.
- Ability to work effectively in diverse cultural and social contexts to build trust and rapport with stakeholders.
