Vice President of Merchandising
About the Role:We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Merchandising to join our team. As a key member of our leadership group, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic merchandising plans that drive business growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:Develop and execute comprehensive merchandising strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives.
Lead a high-performing merchandising team to ensure timely and effective execution of merchandising plans.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
Monitor market trends and supplier performance to make informed buying decisions.
Collaborate with internal departments to align merchandising activities with organizational objectives.
Implement cost-saving initiatives and drive efficiency in the merchandising process.
Evaluate vendor capabilities and maintain relationships for long-term partnerships.
10-15 years' experience in apparel merchandising and product development.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field from NIFT is preferred.
Professional certification in Procurement or Supply Chain (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is preferred.
Strong negotiation skills and proven experience in vendor management are essential.
Excellent analytical abilities and decision-making capabilities are necessary.
Effective communication and leadership skills are required to manage a merchandising team successfully.
Demonstrated knowledge of sourcing strategies and industry best practices is a must.
Proficiency in procurement software and tools for data analysis and reporting is desirable.
