Export Support Manager

About the Role:

  • The Export Support Manager will own and run the complete export business cycle. This includes artisan sourcing, product development, international buyer acquisition, sales closing, export documentation, and logistics management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Export Agent Enablement & Training: Train and mentor handicraft export agents to develop their skills in international trade of handicrafts, quality control, export compliance, and B2B negotiation.
  • Buyer Acquisition & Relationship Management: Guide agents in generating handicraft buyer leads from various sources and negotiate orders for handmade products with importers and retailers globally.
  • Supplier Sourcing & Product Development: Source and audit handicraft suppliers from across India, manage artisan contracts, and oversee custom product development for large orders and private label handicraft exports.
  • Samples & Product Approval: Manage golden samples for buyers and ensure they meet international compliance standards.
  • Pricing, Costing & Margin Control: Prepare costing sheets for handicrafts, factor in raw materials, labor, artisanal handwork, wastage, packaging, inland transport, CHA charges, freight, and commissions.
  • Quality Control & Inspections: Prepare QC checklists for handicraft SKUs and arrange third-party inspections for large export shipments.
  • Export Documentation & Compliance: Handle export paperwork for handicrafts, including IEC, RCMC (EPCH), AD Code, GST LUT/Bond, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Proforma Invoice, Bill of Lading/AWB, Certificate of Origin, Phytosanitary/Fumigation Certificate, and Inspection & Insurance Certificates.
  • Logistics & Shipping: Plan LCL/FCL shipments for bulk handicraft orders and coordinate with freight forwarders experienced in fragile handicraft shipping.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and export procedures.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including artisans, suppliers, and clients.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and Word.
  • Experience in export operations, preferably in the handicraft sector.
