E-Commerce Investigations Specialist

About the Role

As a key member of Amazon’s Vendor Investigations and Transaction Accuracy (VITA) team, you will work onsite in Hyderabad, India. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering results by conducting assigned forensic investigations in a timely manner using data analysis and other tools.
  • Displaying high-level ownership throughout investigation life cycle by defining investigation requirements, facilitating progress, and identifying blockers.
  • Insisting on high standards by writing effective deep dive documents summarizing findings and proposing solutions.
  • Identifying gaps and risks in current mechanisms and policies and recommending solutions to policy owning teams.
  • Conducting effective communication of results and updates to stakeholders.
  • Driving broader risk mitigation activities by working with other teams such as Internal Audit or Loss Prevention (LP).
  • Providing effective coaching/guidance to team members for cross-skilling.

About the Team

VITA identifies, prevents, and recovers erroneous, fraudulent, or wasteful payments to all vendors globally. The team uses rule-based models and machine learning techniques to identify duplicate or fraudulent invoices, data anomalies, and potentially fraudulent vendors both in the corporate and retail space.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in risk management areas such as internal/external audit or forensic investigations.
  • Experience working with teams across different global locations with high ownership and deliver results independently.

Bonus Points

Having a Bachelor’s degree in accounting with professional certifications like CA, CWA, or CFE would be advantageous. Additionally, 5+ years of post-qualification experience in risk and fraud management, experience in Retail or e-commerce, technical skills like SQL, managing analyzing communicating results to senior management, and working with global stakeholders are highly valued.
