Deputy Manager/Manager – Data Protection Specialist

We are seeking an experienced data protection professional to lead and execute data protection engagements, ensuring compliance with global privacy regulations, and embedding data protection-by-design into client processes.

  • Lead and manage data protection projects across industries, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements (GDPR, PDPB/DPDP Act, HIPAA, CCPA, etc.).
  • Conduct data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and implement data subject rights, consent management, and cross-border data transfer mechanisms.
  • Design, review, and enhance data protection policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
  • Collaborate with IT, Legal, and Risk functions to ensure data protection compliance in technology and business processes.
  • Drive awareness sessions and training programs on data protection and data privacy.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management and clients on data protection risks, compliance gaps, and remediation strategies.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 4 to 10 years of relevant experience in data protection, information security, or compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of data protection laws and regulations (GDPR, DPDP Act, HIPAA, CCPA, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with data protection audits, assessments, and compliance programs.
  • Exposure to ISO 27701, ISO 27001, and other data protection/security frameworks.
  • Ability to manage client engagements, lead teams, and deliver projects within timelines.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Certifications:

  • CIPT/CIPP-E/CISM/CISA or equivalent data protection/security certifications.
  • ISO 27701 Implementer/Lead Auditor is an advantage.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of data protection laws and regulations, including GDPR, DPDP Act, HIPAA, and CCPA. They will also have hands-on experience with data protection audits, assessments, and compliance programs, as well as exposure to ISO 27701, ISO 27001, and other data protection/security frameworks.

In addition, the ideal candidate will have excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage client engagements, lead teams, and deliver projects within timelines.
