We are seeking a talented software engineer to deliver roadmap features of our Enterprise TruRisk Platform, which helps customers measure, communicate, and eliminate cyber risks.

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a team building Qualys' next-generation platform using Big Data & Micro-Services technology to process billions of transactions per day, leveraging open-source technologies, and working on challenging business-impacting initiatives.

The Lead QA Automation Engineer will design, implement, document, and maintain testing frameworks for core product capabilities using micro-services and Big Data components. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading automation efforts to achieve maximum automation coverage
  • Developing automation frameworks using Java (Selenium) and automating big data workflows, such as ingestion, aggregation, ETL processing, etc.
  • Debugging and troubleshooting issues within the big data ecosystem
  • Setting up the Big Data platform and Hadoop ecosystem for testing
  • Defining test strategies and writing test plans for data platform enhancements and new features/services built on it
  • Defining operating procedures, service monitors, and alerts, and collaborating with the NOC team to implement them
  • Performing system and performance testing of the data platform and applications
  • Solving problems, establishing plans, and providing technical consultation in the design, development, and test effort of complex engineering projects
  • Reviewing product specifications and writing test cases, developing test plans for assigned areas
  • Identifying issues and technical interdependencies, and suggesting possible solutions
  • Testing big data ingestion and aggregation flows using Spark Shell and related queries
  • Conducting end-to-end workflow automation using a framework
  • Contributing to Test Automation Development/Enhancement
  • Recreating complex customer and production-reported issues to determine root causes and verify fixes
  • Maintaining an automation-first attitude to reduce regression manual cycles
