Database Systems Specialist

We are looking for a skilled database engineer to design and implement databases using Oracle and PostgreSQL.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain databases to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
- Develop complex SQL queries to troubleshoot and administer databases.
- Implement backup and recovery strategies for Oracle (RMAN) and PostgreSQL (pg_dump, pg_basebackup).
- Monitor and improve database performance using various tools and techniques.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address database-related issues.
Requirements:
- 2-4 years of experience in database engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in Oracle and PostgreSQL database management systems.
- Strong understanding of SQL, including query optimization and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix or Windows operating systems.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with database management and monitoring tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and pgAdmin.
- Basic knowledge of shell scripting (Bash, PowerShell) for automating database tasks.
- Understanding of basic security principles such as user authentication, roles, and permissions.
- Experience in working with version-controlled environments and knowledge of change management processes.
