About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Database Specialist to enhance our engineering team's capabilities. As a key member, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance databases using Oracle and PostgreSQL.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of database architecture, structures, and operations
- SQL proficiency with ability to write and understand basic SQL queries for troubleshooting and administrative tasks
- Backup and recovery knowledge with familiarity with backup and recovery strategies for both Oracle (RMAN) and PostgreSQL (pg_dump, pg_basebackup)
- Performance monitoring and tuning with experience in monitoring and improving database performance
- Operating system knowledge with familiarity with Linux/Unix or Windows operating systems where Oracle and PostgreSQL are deployed
- Attention to detail with ability to work with accuracy and follow standard operating procedures
