Principal Database Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Database Specialist to join our team.

  • This role involves designing, implementing, supporting, and maintaining relational database systems. Responsibilities include database access, methods, time, device allocations, validation checks, organization, security, documentation, and statistical methodology.

The successful candidate will be accountable for database administration, design, build, and tuning mission-critical MySQL, Cassandra, Oracle, and PostgreSQL environments within the Database Services team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and configure MySQL, Cassandra, Oracle, and PostgreSQL databases
  • Develop HA solutions and define backup/recovery strategies
  • Create technical infrastructure environments using MySQL, Cassandra, Oracle, and PostgreSQL
  • Establish and document standards and guidelines
  • Automate repeatable tasks
  • Design, implement, and maintain database functions, including access, methods, time, device allocations, validation checks, organization, security, documentation, and statistical methodology
  • Evaluate, test, and produce recommendations for the selection, use, and deployment of DBMS software, data management tools, utilities, data warehouse, and replication tools
