Data Operations Role

Ares Management Corporation is seeking a skilled Data Operations Analyst to join the Mumbai Real Estate Data Operations Team. The team works closely with various corporate functions and external stakeholders to support the Principal, based in London, in implementing the company's digital transformation strategy. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented individual with a positive attitude and experience in data collection and management.

Responsibilities

  • Collect data on a timely basis from internal and external parties and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Liaise with internal and external providers to build relations and provide support/guidance.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure high data quality and improve collection efficiency and accuracy.
  • Upload/enter collected data into relevant systems, making initial checks for omissions and accuracy, and liaise with data providers to resolve issues.
  • Provide first review of uploaded data and take necessary steps to resolve issues identified.
  • Follow processes/workflows to pass data through internal review and approval.
  • Ensure data is collected, reviewed, and approved within internal deadlines and escalate issues.
  • Promote data governance and ensure it is at the forefront of all processes.

Systems and Processes

  • Support the implementation of new systems and processes, including data collection, testing, and roll-out.
  • Act as a systems and processes 'Champion', maintaining a strong knowledge of key business systems and processes and promoting their use and benefits across the business.
  • Use and develop dashboards, reports, and processes to actively monitor the accuracy and completeness of data entered in systems by the wider Real Estate team. Liaise with stakeholders to remedy omissions or incorrect data.
  • Support the administration of key systems and training of internal and external users.
  • Support the timely and accurate preparation and upload of periodic workflows tasks.
  • Provide feedback/suggestions to improve the use of systems and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or professional qualification in Finance, Surveying, or other business-related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in high-quality, global capital markets, investment management, or real estate firms with expertise in Finance or Operations.
  • Experience of the collection, review, and management of data with a strong focus on process and working to deadlines.
  • Prior experience with an alternative asset manager preferred.
  • Experience of real estate or investment management systems preferred.
  • Experience or strong understanding of data operations.

General Requirements

  • Experience of using enterprise and workflow systems.
  • Familiarity with institutional real estate investment and an understanding of the associated data points would be an advantage.
  • Experience of building and managing internal and external relationships.
  • A self-directed individual with a can-do attitude, willing to work in an energetic, collaborative, and fast-paced environment, proactive in nature, and a proven ability to resolve issues with minimal supervision.
  • Proven outstanding communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with a friendly and respectful approach that is also confident and tenacious.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • A hands-on approach.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and competing demands.
  • High accuracy and detail orientation.
  • Good judgment in terms of escalating issues vs. solving problems independently.

  • Ability to be flexible in terms of hours in order to coordinate with team members across various time zones.
