Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Coder to join our department. The ideal candidate will have 3-7 years of experience in medical coding, with a strong background in same day surgery coding.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Review and analyze medical records, operative reports, and other documentation to ensure accurate coding of procedures and diagnoses.
  • Assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for same day surgeries in accordance with coding guidelines and payer requirements.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to clarify documentation when necessary to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Stay updated on changes in coding standards, regulations, and best practices to maintain compliance and enhance coding accuracy.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The following skills and qualifications are preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in health information management or related field.
  • Certification as a CPC (Certified Professional Coder), CCS (Certified Coding Specialist), or similar credential.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and surgical procedures.
  • Proficient in coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
