Medical Affairs Manager Job Description

This role focuses on developing and implementing the medical affairs strategy, providing expert support to both marketing and medical teams.

The General Manager of Medical Affairs will be responsible for driving business growth through effective medico-marketing support, product evaluation, and stakeholder engagement. Key responsibilities include:

  • Medico-Marketing Support:
    • Develop medical references and data to inform product positioning and support new product research and development (NPD).
  • Marketing Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the marketing team to provide strategic advice on promotional activities and ensure accurate messaging and compliance.
  • CME Development:
    • Create Continuing Medical Education (CME) materials and slides to enhance ongoing education initiatives.
  • Product Evaluation:
    • Evaluate new product ideas and presentations, providing insights and recommendations to the marketing and business development teams.
  • Training Sessions:
    • Conduct medical training sessions for field staff to ensure they are well-informed about products and therapeutic areas.
  • Clinical Study Participation:
    • Participate in clinical studies to gather relevant data and insights that inform medical affairs strategies.
  • Competitive Analysis:
    • Analyze competitors' new products and strategies, providing insights to inform company positioning and development efforts.
  • Market Intelligence:
    • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging science to drive strategic decisions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Buid relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and relevant organizations to enhance scientific communication and brand credibility.
Requirements

  • • Advanced degree in life sciences (MBBS, MD) or equivalent.

  • • Minimum 15 years experience in medical affairs or related fields, with a focus on marketing support and product evaluation.

  • • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, clinical development processes, and the therapeutic landscape relevant to the company's products.

  • • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively across teams and influence stakeholders.

  • • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to assess data and inform strategic decisions.
