Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Product Designer to lead the design of our toys and supporting materials from concept to production. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product design, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently on tight timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Concept and iterate toy forms based on child-development research and data analysis.
  • Create detailed CAD models and production-ready drawings using SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Rhino, or similar software.
  • Build and refine prototypes with stakeholder input and feedback.
  • Develop cohesive toy aesthetics including materials, finishes, and colors that meet safety standards.
  • Support creation of brand identity including logo, packaging, and visual system.
  • Produce brand guidelines to ensure design consistency across all products.
  • Design engaging play guides and instructional inserts that enhance the user experience.
  • Create eye-catching graphics for toy packaging that appeal to children and parents alike.
  • Support design of kit storage solutions including bags and boxes that meet safety and quality standards.
  • Work closely with child-development experts and manufacturers to ensure designs meet user needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate design documentation for production and compliance purposes.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Product/Industrial Design or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD software including SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Rhino, or similar.
  • Portfolio showcasing end-to-end ownership from concept to prototype.
  • Experience working with children's products/toys/consumer goods an asset.
  • Creative thinker who balances aesthetics, functionality, and safety requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results on tight timelines.
