Business Development Manager - Credit Risk

As a Business Development Manager - Credit Risk, you will be responsible for leading the credit risk management function within our organization. This includes overseeing the credit approval process, managing credit portfolios, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement credit policies and procedures to ensure effective risk management.
  • Conduct credit evaluations and appraisal underwriting of unsecured business loans.
  • Meet with clients to obtain information for loan applications and analyse their financial situation through on-site visits.
  • Manage and control delinquencies through portfolio review, focusing on non-starters.
  • Coordinate with operations teams for disbursal, OTC, and PDD processes.
  • Provide training to credit resources on sales documentation, operations, and credit-related topics.
  • Engage with vendors and track completion of all necessary verifications checks related to loan applications.
  • Maintain timely delivery of UBL proposals and manage overall credit and risk functions.
  • Ensure adherence to credit policy and defined processes, providing inputs for designing and implementing credit policy and programmes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in credit risk management, preferably in a banking or financial services sector.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to engage with various stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of credit policies, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines.
