Job Summary:

We seek a highly skilled Accounting Manager to lead our Accounts Payable and Indirect Taxes functions. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience in managing the AP lifecycle, strong command of TDS and GST compliances, and knowledge of accounting principles.

Industry Background: Direct-to-Consumer / Ecommerce / Retail / Manufacturing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee end-to-end Accounts Payable process, including invoice processing, vendor reconciliation, and payment runs
  • Ensure invoices are properly coded, authorized, and entered into accounting software in a timely and accurate manner
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, addressing billing or payment inquiries
  • Manage employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies

GST Compliance:

  • Manage all aspects of GST compliance, focusing on maximizing Input Tax Credit (ITC) claims
  • Perform monthly reconciliations and ensure timely action on discrepancies
  • Prepare and file GST returns as applicable

TDS Compliance:

  • Calculate and deduct TDS accurately on all payments
  • Prepare and file quarterly TDS returns as applicable

Accounting Software Implementation & Process Improvement:

  • Design efficient workflows and processes for AP and tax compliance using accounting software
  • Drive projects for process automation, reporting enhancements, and better control mechanisms

Team Management & Leadership:

  • Supervise and mentor a team of accounts professionals
  • Allocate tasks and monitor team performance to meet deadlines and quality standards

Reporting and Reconciliation:

  • Prepare various AP and tax-related reports, including aging reports and vendor balances
  • Reconcile vendor accounts, bank statements, and General Ledger accounts

Audit and Internal Controls:

  • Serve as primary point of contact for audits related to AP and indirect taxes
  • Ensure all processes comply with internal controls and company policies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or a related field. Professional certification is a plus
  • Minimum 4-5 years progressive experience in Accounts Payable, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory role
  • Extensive experience with accounting software
