Concept Artist Job Description

The role of a Concept Artist involves creating visual representations of ideas and concepts for various projects. This position requires the ability to bring imagination to life through art.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed drawings and paintings of environments, characters, buildings, vehicles, and props.
  • Liaise with producers, art directors, and game developers regarding project briefs.
  • Research and gather reference materials on concept subjects, styles, and genres.
  • Respond positively and proactively to feedback and continue developing concepts and designs throughout the production process.
  • Use traditional and technological approaches to create 2D and 3D designs using drawing and painting techniques.
  • Explain and pitch ideas clearly to clients and design teams.
  • Adapt and refine work based on feedback and maintain good communication.
  • Confidently use creative programs and technologies such as Photoshop, Painter, SketchUp, and Illustrator.
  • Meet strict deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Degree in fine art is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Photoshop is essential.
  • Bold and inspirational attitude under tight deadlines.
  • Positive attitude and constant drive to succeed.
