Job Overview

As a highly skilled Image Processing Scientist, you will play a key role in developing and optimizing cutting-edge image processing algorithms for various applications.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in radiometric and geometric correction, atmospheric correction, image enhancement, mosaicking, and orthorectification.

They will also be proficient in designing efficient image processing pipelines for satellite optical sensor data, leveraging techniques such as deep learning, object detection, and spectral analysis to extract valuable insights from optical imagery.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize image processing algorithms for key stages, including radiometric and geometric correction, atmospheric correction, image enhancement, mosaicking, and orthorectification.
  • Design and implement efficient image processing pipelines for satellite optical sensor data, utilizing machine learning techniques and computer vision algorithms.
  • Apply cutting-edge techniques such as deep learning, object detection, and spectral analysis to extract meaningful insights from optical imagery.
  • Work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and GIS specialists to integrate image processing pipelines into broader systems.
  • Participate in quality assurance practices to ensure high-quality image products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Remote Sensing, Geospatial Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of industrial experience in satellite/drone image processing focusing on optical sensor data.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency in programming skills in Python, with experience using libraries like OpenCV, GDAL.
  • Understanding of satellite optical sensors and their processing challenges.
  • Experience with machine learning techniques for image analysis.
  • Familiarity with geospatial data formats and tools (e.g., GeoTIFF, QGIS, ArcGIS).
