Geospatial Data Specialist Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS data specialist to support informed decision-making. The ideal candidate will collect, analyze, and interpret geospatial data from large datasets, including GIS data, satellite imagery, and other spatial sources.

Job Description

The geospatial data specialist will be responsible for searching, collecting, processing, and managing large datasets. They will validate the accuracy, quality, and completeness of spatial data and perform ETL operations between GIS applications/database using Esri Desktop or Server.

The successful candidate will conduct spatial analysis, create maps, and develop geospatial models to aid various projects and initiatives. They will also ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency through quality checks and resolution of data discrepancies using ArcGIS Data Reviewer.

Collaboration with stakeholders is essential, including project managers, analysts, and external partners. The candidate will comprehend data requirements and provide recommendations to business partners, peers, and management.

The role requires effective time management and organizational skills, as well as the ability to identify, research, and resolve issues proactively.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Familiarity with image processing techniques and experience with image analysis
  • Working knowledge on imagery-based data creation on Esri platform
  • Master's degree in RS, GIS, Geoinformatics, or a related field
  • Ability to travel and work at client sites if required
