Procurement Specialist

 

Job Summary:

Manage procurement activities related to equipment for shipbuilding, ship repairs, and heavy fabrication projects. Ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of necessary equipment within project timelines.

This role supports the efficient operation of the shipyard by securing essential equipment within budget constraints and adhering to operational goals and quality standards.

The Procurement Specialist will drive procurement efficiency, compliance, and cost control throughout all aspects of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee procurement operations for equipment related to shipbuilding projects and heavy fabrication, developing and implementing procurement strategies to secure equipment within budget while meeting project timelines and operational requirements.
  • Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and service agreements with suppliers to achieve the best value while maintaining long-term relationships.
  • Implement procurement policies, systems, and controls to ensure compliance with procedural, legislative, and quality requirements, monitoring expenses to maintain alignment with project budgets and identifying opportunities for cost reduction and optimization.

Requirements:

Must have a bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Professional certifications in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Contract Management are beneficial.

Preferred Experience:

10+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with a focus on equipment procurement within shipbuilding, heavy engineering, or a similar industry.

Proven experience in imports, LC payment terms, supplier negotiation, contract management, and managing a team of procurement professionals is highly valued.
