Description

This is a leadership position that requires experience in programme design, management, and evaluation within the development sector. A key focus area will be to develop and implement strategies for programme themes, identifying opportunities for collaboration and innovation to strengthen impact.

The successful candidate will have strong leadership and team management skills, ability to develop and manage multi-stakeholder partnerships, excellent communication and analytical abilities, demonstrated capacity to think strategically and translate plans into results, and ability to work effectively in diverse cultural and social contexts.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the development of long-term strategies and annual plans for programme themes.
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration and innovation to strengthen impact.
  • Oversee select programme areas to ensure timely, high-quality delivery in line with agreed goals.
  • Provide guidance to project teams to strengthen operational efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Engage with implementing agencies, knowledge partners, and peer organisations to strengthen programme outcomes.
  • Represent the organisation externally as required.
  • Provide mentoring support to mid-level team members to help them grow into leadership roles.
  • Encourage a collaborative culture that values learning and accountability.
  • Ensure effective systems for tracking progress, capturing lessons, and adapting strategies.
  • Support preparation of reports, presentations, and knowledge products.
  • Contribute to budget planning and monitor utilisation in assigned programme areas.
  • Ensure adherence to internal processes and compliance frameworks.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in social sciences, development studies, public policy, or a related discipline.
  • At least 12–15 years of relevant experience in programme design, management, or evaluation within the development sector, including experience in leadership roles.
