Job Title: Operations Director

Job Summary:

We are seeking an accomplished Operations Director to oversee the daily operations of a spirits manufacturing plant. This role demands expertise in distillation, strong leadership skills, and experience in managing teams within the alcohol or beverage industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all operational functions including manufacturing, quality assurance, safety and environment, logistics, procurement, finance, and ensure efficient production of distilled beverages.
  • Develop strategies to drive business growth, enhance productivity, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Lead new capital expenditure projects and expansion initiatives.
  • Build and manage high-performing teams aligned with company objectives.
  • Manage industrial relations, labor issues, recruitment, orientation, and training.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies, including UNBS (Uganda National Bureau of Standards), to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Instrumentation Engineering preferred.
  • Additional qualifications in distillation will be advantageous.
  • 10–15 years of experience in the Alcohol and/or Beverage industry.
  • Proven track record in operational management and team leadership.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and challenging environment.
