Job Description
  • Big Data Platform Management
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations, administration, and monitoring of Big Data Platform components Hadoop Hive HBase BigSQL etc.
  • Support and Collaboration
  • Provide technical assistance and support to teams across environments, ensuring seamless data copies, cleanup, query tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Troubleshooting and Resolution
  • Resolve complex issues related to user queries, application jobs, and platform performance, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
  • Encryption and Security
  • Create encryption zones, manage encryption keys, and securely copy data between zones, maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
  • Project Support
  • Contribute to projects/initiatives focused on data acquisition, processing, and utilization through Big Data Platform, driving business outcomes.
  • Platform Maintenance
  • Maintain and support Big Data Platform CDP Private Cloud and IBM BigSQL across multiple environments, ensuring high uptime and optimal performance.
  • Upgrade and Performance Tuning
  • Install new versions, patches, and support upgrades of CDP Private Cloud and IBM BigSQL, enhancing capabilities and improving speed.
  • Governance and Compliance
  • Adhere to security policies, documentation, and compliance requirements, ensuring regulatory adherence and risk management.
  • Process Documentation
  • Develop processes and policies for Hadoop System Administration Platform support activities, facilitating knowledge sharing and best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or relevant field required.
  • Minimum 35 years of experience in Hadoop Ecosystem HDFS MapReduce Hive HBase Spark Scala Yarn Sqoop Ranger Knox Kerberos LDAP SOLR.
  • 6 years of experience with Java and Linux/Unix required.
  • 4 years of experience with Security Scripting and Automation required.
  • 2 years of experience in R Python Flume Storm Kafka required.
  • 2 years of experience with IBM BigSQL or Similar MPP SQL Engines required.
  • 2 years of experience with MySQL required.
  • 1 year of experience with CICD required.
