Lead Platform Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Platform Engineer to design, develop, and implement our platform infrastructure.

This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance scalability, reliability, and efficiency of our services and applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Automate and Improve Deployment Processes
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and proactively address potential bottlenecks
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to establish CI/CD pipelines and ensure best practices in software delivery
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and teams
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance platform capabilities
  • Ensure security best practices are integrated into the development and deployment processes
  • Conduct regular reviews with stakeholders to align on technology roadmap and progress
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Platform Engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of platform architecture and design principles
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
  • Understanding of networking concepts and services, including load balancing, DNS, and VPNs
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Dynatrace)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical teams
  • Experience in Agile and DevOps methodologies
