**Job Summary**

The Retail Training Director is a critical role at The Sleep Company, responsible for developing and executing comprehensive training strategies to enhance the skills of retail staff across all store locations.

This individual will lead a team of trainers and collaborate with other departments to drive consistent training programs that align with company goals and brand standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Training Strategy Development:
    • Design and implement a robust retail training strategy to enhance employees' skills in customer service, sales, product knowledge, and operational efficiency.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing training initiatives and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Program Design & Implementation:
    • Develop, maintain, and continually improve training programs for different retail levels (entry-level staff, supervisors, and managers).
    • Create blended learning solutions (in-person, virtual, e-learning) that maximize engagement and learning outcomes.
    • Implement on-the-job training initiatives to ensure consistent learning in the retail environment.
  • Team Leadership & Management:
    • Lead and manage the retail training team, ensuring high performance and ongoing development.
    • Conduct performance reviews and provide guidance, feedback, and mentorship to trainers and junior staff.
  • Training Evaluation & Effectiveness:
    • Develop and implement mechanisms to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs (feedback surveys, assessments, performance metrics).
    • Analyze training results and provide actionable insights to senior management for continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Work closely with retail management teams to identify training needs and customize programs to address specific gaps.
    • Collaborate with HR, marketing, and operations departments to ensure consistency in training materials and programs.
  • Leadership Development:
    • Design and implement leadership development programs for store managers and potential leaders within the retail network.
    • Coach and mentor retail leadership on effective people management, store operations, and sales strategies.
  • Brand Knowledge & Compliance:
    • Ensure all training programs align with brand standards and industry regulations (if applicable).
    • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor training programs, and best practices.
