
Strategic Human Resources Leader

This is a challenging full-time role that requires strong leadership and management of human resources at the manufacturing unit.
The Strategic HR Leader will lead the entire HR spectrum, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, performance management, training, capability building, succession planning, employee relations, labour laws compliance, health, safety, and environment, administration, and facility management.
The ideal candidate should have proven leadership and people management skills, with strong communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving abilities.
They should also have in-depth knowledge of factory HR operations and Gujarat-specific labour laws, as well as practical experience in handling large shop-floor workforces and contract labour.
The selected candidate will be responsible for driving factory-specific employee engagement plans, organizing health check-ups, blood donation drives, and festival celebrations, and managing grievance redressal platforms, feedback mechanisms, and pulse surveys.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading plant-level HR strategy aligned with factory production objectives and corporate HR policies.
- Acting as a strategic partner to Plant Head and senior leadership in achieving operational goals.
- Driving continuous improvements in factory HR systems, processes, and policies to support business excellence.
- Forecasting manpower requirements based on factory production schedules and capacity expansion.
- Developing and executing recruitment plans for factory staff and blue-collar workforce.
- Ensuring structured onboarding and job-readiness programs for factory joiners.
- Rolling out KRAand KPI-based performance appraisal systems across factory departments.
- Collaborating with line managers to monitor worker-level performance, identify gaps, and develop improvement plans.
- Optimizing manpower deployment, improving shift efficiency, and driving role clarity initiatives at shop-floor level.
- Leading initiatives for cost optimization and productivity improvement.
- Conducting annual Training Needs Analysis (TNA) for blue- and white-collar employees.
- Developing and implementing technical, behavioral, statutory, and EHS training programs in partnership with internal/external trainers.
- Tracking training hours, effectiveness metrics, and individual development plans (IDPs).
- Fostering a continuous learning culture across all factory functions.
- Identifying critical roles and successors within plant operations.
- Creating and monitoring talent pipelines for operator-to-supervisor and supervisor-to-manager transitions.
- Maintaining talent matrices, dashboards, and development action plans.
- Facilitating leadership grooming programs and job rotations within the plant.
- Maintaining positive ER climate and trust-based relations with shop-floor employees and unions.
- Proactively addressing grievances, coordinating inquiries, and ensuring disciplinary proceedings as per the Standing Orders.
- Leading negotiation and settlement discussions (Long-Term Agreements, Wage Settlements, etc.) with unions if applicable.
- Promoting harmonious industrial relations and ensuring zero disruption to factory operations.
- Ensuring 100% adherence to all applicable factory-level statutory requirements (Factories Act, CLRA, ID Act, etc.).
- Maintaining updated statutory registers, wage records, and contract labour documentation.
- Handling inspections, compliance audits (HR, ISO, SEDEX, BSCI), and liaison with local labour and factory authorities.
- Coordinating third-party compliance audits for customer and certification needs.
- Collaborating with Factory Safety Officer to implement safety policies and conduct safety training programs.
- Ensuring adherence to PPE usage, incident reporting, and emergency preparedness.
- Supporting periodic fire drills, health & hygiene audits, and workplace risk assessments.
- Driving a culture of zero incidents and compliance to ISO 45001 / 14001 standards.
- Overseeing efficient functioning of admin support including security, canteen, transport, housekeeping, and plant infrastructure.
- Monitoring upkeep of factory premises, utilities, gardens, and sanitation.
- Managing vendor contracts and ensuring service level compliance.
- Optimizing administrative costs while maintaining service quality.
- Driving factory-specific employee engagement plans including floor-level R&R programs, suggestion schemes, and open forums.
- Organizing health check-ups, blood donation drives, and festival celebrations.
- Managing grievance redressal platforms, feedback mechanisms, and pulse surveys.
- Enhancing worker connect through daily floor rounds and team communication meetings.
