Lead Protection and Control Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the delivery of protection and control systems for various projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and commissioning protection and control systems that meet our clients' expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver protection and control systems for substations and other electrical infrastructure
  • Interface with clients to understand their requirements and provide solutions that meet their needs
  • Collaborate with junior engineers and graduate engineers to ensure project success
  • Contribute to tendering activities by providing preliminary design documentation and drawings
  • Lead P&C design on projects and engage with stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Graduate/Post-graduate degree in Electrical Engineering with 8-12+ years of experience in design of protection and control systems
  • Hands-on experience in design of protection systems applied to busbars, feeders, transformers, reactors, etc., on 132kV and above systems
  • Appreciation for the principles of current and voltage transformers, auto reclose, circuit breaker fail, and plant auto switching arrangements
  • Ability to complete design deliverables, including single line diagrams, circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, general arrangement diagrams, cable schedules, cable block diagrams, and termination schedules, etc.
  • Member of IET and working towards Chartered Engineer accreditation
  • Desirable: Meet the requirements of National Grid, UK – for TP141 assessment

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong English communication skills to coordinate with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Experience with MS Office, AutoCAD 2D, Trimble (Amtech), ETAP/PSCAD desirable
