Procurement Lead

This role is responsible for overseeing the entire procurement process, from initial vendor confirmation to final delivery. The Procurement Lead will manage global procurement and sourcing from US-based suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.

The key responsibilities include:

Procurement Process Management
  • Oversight of the entire procurement process, including vendor confirmation, PO fixation, rush orders, vendor master data management, expediting, e-sourcing, and service master agreement creation.
Global Sourcing and Procurement
  • Management of global procurement and sourcing from US-based suppliers.
Price Analysis and Reporting
  • Analyzing supplier pricing to ensure the company meets budget expectations or reporting necessary adjustments to master data files.
Supplier Coordination
  • Ensuring suppliers meet required timing for materials.
  • Advising internal teams about delivery delays as soon as they're identified.
Purchase Requisition and Vendor Sourcing
  • Reviewing purchase requisitions and identifying appropriate sources for supply.
  • Utilizing e-sourcing tools to create service master agreements and manage contract terms.
Negotiation
  • Negotiating with suppliers on pricing, payment terms, and conditions to achieve cost savings for the business.
Team Leadership
  • Leading a team of 7-10 members, providing guidance and support for efficient operations.
Reporting and Analysis
  • Publishing weekly and monthly reports (SLA dashboards, MIS reports, PowerPoint presentations) and sending them to the supervisor.
  • Ensuring timely payment processing by collaborating with the finance department, resolving invoice discrepancies, and ensuring payments are in line with agreed terms.
Purchase Order Creation
  • Creating and managing purchase orders in an enterprise procurement system to ensure proper documentation and tracking.
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Progressive experience in purchasing with exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with data analysis using an enterprise procurement system.
  • High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel ideal.
  • Demonstrated track record of motivation and success.
  • Experience in a laboratory setting or within the Bio/Life Sciences industry preferred.
  • Background in Operations or Supply Chain Management a plus.
