Test Manager Position

Job Description:

As a test manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution of testing activities to ensure that products meet required standards and specifications. Key responsibilities include coordinating with stakeholders, providing guidance on testing strategies, ensuring traceability from business requirements to executed test scenarios, managing testers to enable them to create and deliver test cases in designated tools, tracking test progress for preparation and execution, using designated Test Management tool for creating test plans/packages and assigning test cases, and handling defects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage stakeholder communication and coordination
  • Provide guidance and direction on testing strategies to project management
  • Ensure all testing artefacts are managed within chosen test tools for test preparation, execution, and defect management
  • Ensure traceability from business requirements to executed test scenarios
  • Manage testers to enable them to create and deliver test cases in designated tools
  • Track test progress for test preparation and execution
  • Use designated Test Management tool for creating test plans/packages and assigning test cases
  • Defect Handling
  • Continuous Improvement

Supporting Other Test Managers:

  • Support other test managers with test plan/package creation
  • Assign test cases (business partner groups for testers and resolvers)
  • Update shared documentation
  • Report test and defect status using analytics software
  • Hand over defects to incident management tool
  • Monitor requests via testing portal

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of Release testing lifecycle, test cases creation and repository, testing enablement (test plan/package/testers assignment) and execution strategies
  • Proficiency in SAP Solution Manager (SXP Test Suite), Worksoft Certify and Analytic tools like PowerBI, SAP Cloud ALM, SAP BTP, Signavio Integration
  • Jira

Leadership and Communication:

  • Cross-functional collaboration: Working with central and regional test management teams, DevOps and release teams
  • Status Report: Preparing and providing regular updates on test progress/status into actionable insights for stakeholders at different testing phases
  • Escalation and Decision-Making: Knowing when and how to escalate issues/risk and make informed decisions independently
  • Presentation and Training: Present and provide enablement and training to different stakeholders at different testing phases

Problem Solving and Risk Management:

  • Defect Analysis: Manage and collaborate defects with DevOps throughout the release cycle
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify potential blockers and plan contingency together with stakeholders at different testing stages
