
Literacy Program Manager

The Literacy Program Manager will play a key role in supporting and coaching teachers, librarians, and principals to adopt new ways of working with children to increase their habit of reading and establish highly functioning libraries.
About the Role:
- Develop a thorough understanding of Room to Read's Literacy program design and implementation framework.
- Manage, monitor, and support library program intervention across assigned project schools, ensuring adherence to the program design and delivery of expected outcomes.
- Provide guidance and conduct training sessions for teachers, librarians, and school administrators to enhance their skills and knowledge in literacy program implementation.
- Write regular reports to supervisors on program implementation progress, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.
- Engage with stakeholders, including parents, community members, and local authorities, to promote literacy awareness and advocate for program sustainability.
- Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement effective literacy strategies, leveraging best practices and research-based approaches.
- Support the establishment of well-organized and functional libraries, ensuring they meet program requirements and serve as hubs for literacy promotion.
- Contribute to data analysis and interpretation, identifying trends and insights that inform program development and improvement.
- Participate in workshops, conferences, and other professional development opportunities to stay updated on literacy best practices and methodologies.
- Work closely with colleagues to share knowledge, resources, and expertise, promoting a collaborative and supportive team environment.

- Design and deliver training programs for teachers, librarians, and school administrators.

- Advocate for program sustainability and resources.
- Support the establishment of functional and organized libraries.
- Ensure libraries meet program requirements and serve as hubs for literacy promotion.
- Analyze data to inform program development and improvement.
- Prepare regular reports on program implementation progress.
Requirements:
- Degree in Education, Library Science, or related field.
- Proven experience in literacy program management, teacher training, and capacity building.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
