As a seasoned professional in civil engineering, we invite you to join our team as an Airfield Engineer with the potential to become the Principal Engineer.

Our dynamic Aviation team is seeking an experienced individual to take on this critical role. As the first member of this team, you will be instrumental in shaping its growth and development.

  • Oversee the design process for airfield civil engineering projects.
  • Lead the successful delivery of projects while mentoring junior team members, ensuring their work is properly planned and managed.
  • Prepare technical reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications related to airfield engineering projects both domestically and internationally.
  • Contribute to technical design reviews to meet quality management standards.
  • Participate in the design process, providing technical input throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate designs with team members, industry partners, and clients.
  • Identify and manage design risks, issues, and requests for information (RFIs).
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to monitor project progress and develop appropriate project controls.
  • Implement technical quality requirements, address project briefs, and meet client deadlines.
  • Serve as a role model, line manager, and mentor for other staff members.
  • Emphasize excellent health and safety practices in design.
  • Contribute to the recruitment and growth of the Aviation team in India.
Requirements and Qualifications

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Civil Engineer to enhance and grow our diverse and respected team.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • 10 years of experience in civil infrastructure design at airports.
  • Civil engineering expertise in working on large, complex airport projects from concept through to detailed design and construction support.
  • Experience managing engineering professionals in delivering technical aviation projects.
  • Strong communication skills when interacting with team members, industry associates, and clients.
  • Self-leadership skills, attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet business objectives in the UK and India.
  • Flexibility in adapting to fast-paced environments with strict deadlines.
  • Knowledge of international airfield design standards such as ICAO and FAA.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and relevant airfield engineering software packages like AviPlan, SkySafe, and FAARFIELD is preferable but not essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for individuals with the following qualifications:

  • Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent relevant qualification.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Status (MICE, MCIHT or equivalent) or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of construction contracts such as NEC 4.
