Job Description

As a Senior Data Governance Strategist, you will play a pivotal role in driving enterprise-level data governance initiatives forward. This position requires a seasoned professional with expertise in metadata management, data quality, lineage, and security.

You will collaborate closely with data governance leads, business stakeholders, product managers, and engineering teams to capture, document, and manage detailed business and technical requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading stakeholder sessions to define and refine use cases across metadata management, data lineage, data quality, and data security
  • Translating business requirements into epics, user stories, process flows, and use cases for platforms such as Collibra, Informatica Axon/EDC, or similar governance tools
  • Partnering with cross-functional teams to define project scope, success metrics, KPIs, and delivery milestones
  • Facilitating Agile ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and feature reviews to ensure timely delivery of data governance capabilities
Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will require:

  • Strong experience with data governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica Axon/EDC, Alation, or similar
  • In-depth understanding of data lifecycle, data quality, metadata management, data security, and lineage
  • Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and managing Agile backlogs using JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar tools
  • Proven ability to create business process diagrams, requirement documents, and stakeholder RACI matrices
  • Exceptional communication skills, including experience in executive-level reporting and stakeholder engagement
