Job Title: Data Governance Specialist

Job Description

This role is pivotal in designing and implementing effective data governance initiatives that drive business value across all data types.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop controls, KPIs, and reporting measures that demonstrate the implementation of robust data governance practices.

They will also be responsible for driving the delivery of data governance responsibilities, including data classifications, MDM, glossaries, and taxonomies, across the organization.

A strong advocate for data literacy and awareness, this individual will champion a consistent approach to data governance throughout the organization.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing controls and processes to demonstrate effective data governance
  2. Designing and implementing data governance initiatives that drive business value
  3. Collaborating with stakeholders to develop reporting measures and KPIs
  4. Advocating for data literacy and awareness throughout the organization

The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience in data governance management activities, including data quality, lineage, MDM, EUDA management, data ownership, and control development.

They will also possess excellent stakeholder engagement skills, having interacted with people at all levels within an organization, including senior management.

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required, along with certifications in data governance and relevant tools such as EUDA and retention tracking.

This role requires a proven passion for data governance, a strong drive for results, and excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.

The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, able to work with little or no supervision, and possess a flexible approach with extensive latitude for independent judgment.
